We Measure Accurately & Care for Gently here at Life Alive Chiropractic
Chiropractors use the InsightTM to measure the effects of subluxations, and to help identify misalignments of the spine that cause nerve interference. Spinal misalignment disturbs the muscle's regular nerve function, causing an abnormal amount of electrical flow to the muscles and creating other health problems.
The Insight Subluxation StationTM measures the electrical flow and charts it using graphics that show the spine and specify precisely when chiropractors should adjust their patients, allowing for increased accuracy in diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes.
The InsightTM uses technology developed for NASA to measure the effects of space on the spines of space shuttle astronauts. CLA continued the development of the system into the commercially available model available for chiropractic care and has been marketing the technology since 1988. The system measures skin temperature differentials and the sensitivity of paraspinal tissues and assesses range-of-motion, heart rate variability, and the amount of tension of paraspinal muscle activity to create the visual images used by chiropractors and their patients. It is the only technology of its kind certified by The Space Foundation.
HRV (HEART RATE VARIABILITY)
- Low Score = health at risk.
- High score = healthier and health more resilient
The Insight Millenium™ Pulse Wave Profiler (PWP) allows Dr. Schrock to measure autonomic nervous system function and to quantify your body’s ability to adapt to stress. The autonomic nervous system uses the most energy from your body to keep you alive an well, so you can clearly see the importance of taking care of it. You will receive a score, and being a key biomarker of health, you want to receive a high score. A low heart rate variability is associated with aging and poor health, but that can change with the right factors put in place by your Chiropractor. Plus, chiropractic adjustments have been shown to improve HRV measurements, balancing the autonomic nervous system.1

Static Electromyography (sEMG) is a test that is completed to measure overall muscle tone and balance across the spine. Muscles are controlled by a part of your nervous system known as the motor nerve system, responsible for movement of joints, balance, coordination, and posture. Increased muscle tension and imbalance across the spine is largely due to spinal subluxations (misalignments that place increased stress and irritation on the nerve system). This increased tension can lead to poor posture, pain, headaches, poor balance, and fatigue.
We look for symmetry, balance and for your body to changes as you get adjustments and change your lifestyle in practical and simple ways.
Normal Muscle Tone Range and Symmetry (posture)
The patented Insight Thermography Scanner is used to assess the autonomic nervous system (ANS), which controls your organs, glands, and blood vessels. The instrument does this by precisely measuring differences in skin temperature along the spine.
Temperature is an accurate indicator as to where stress is building up and how deeply it affects bodily function. The vitally important ANS regulates such functions as digestion, hormone balance, immune system performance, blood pressure, and body temperature.
It is safe for all ages and stages of life.
We show you how your current lifestyle matches where stress is being processed and/or held in the body.
